8 Books as Treasures we Found

Dank zij zijn vele nationale en internationale contacten kan Shitoku heel wat boeken voor de bibliotheek bekomen. De eerste catalogus (maart 1980) bevat 155 werken. Als we in 2000-2001 opnieuw een integraal overzicht op pc maken, blijkt onze bib aangegroeid tot 1 560 werken!

Thanks to his many national and international contacts, Shitoku manages to add many books to the library. The first catalog (March 1980) contains 155 works. When rebuilding an integral database on pc again, in 2000-2001, our library seems to contain 1.560 publications!

Nadat onze sangha rond die periode van een relatief klein vast groepje stilaan groeit met een aantal sterk geëngageerde leden, wordt besloten onze bibliotheek in de eerstvolgende jaren te updaten. Eerst wordt ze eerder dynamisch aangevuld via boeken uit de privé verzamelingen, en sinds kort meer gericht via de aankoop van o.a. recente werken – hoofdzakelijk Nederlandstalig en/of alleszins recentere boeken.

After our sangha gradually is growing from a relatively small fixed group, around that period, to a stronger and more engaged member network, we decide to update our library within the years to come. First we enlarge the library collection on a rather dynamical way by adding books from our own home libraries; more recently we buy more specific additions – mainly Dutch books/translations and/or certainly more recent publications.

Wellicht kunnen we u aan het einde van 2009 opnieuw een frissere up-to-date bibliotheek presenteren… De basiswerken en collector’s items blijven beschikbaar in aparte kasten.

We will probably be able to present to you again a fresh up to date library at the end of the year 2009… The basic publications and the collector’s items still available in separate bookcases.
